Marius Brem uses the human form as a vehicle to think about these questions. He approaches them both 2 and 3 dimentionally, using red earthenware clay to make sculptures and drawing with charcoal. Clay is one of the most ancient mediums of human creativity, and charcoal is probably the first drawing implement. Our impulse to imbibe objects around us with humanity may be equally as old. Why do we identify with these lumps of matter?
